Dr. NGUYEN Duc-Thanh

Dr. Thanh is currently a senior researcher at the Research Institute of Forest Industry, under the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences. He received a Doctoral degree in 2018 from Kyoto University, Japan, through the Japanese Government’s Global 30 (G30) Special Program. His research focuses on wood technology, with an emphasis on wood processing, preservation, and particularly the conservation of archaeological wood using polymeric materials. Dr. Thanh has conducted several conservation projects involving excavated wooden artifacts from the Thang Long Imperial Citadel site in Hanoi, the Vuon Chuoi archaeological site in Hanoi, the Cao Quy archaeological site in Hai Phong, and the Royal Woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty in Da Lat, Lam Dong...
