This is an occasion for Vietnam to advance towards the ratification of the UNESCO 2001 Convention. UNESCO is ready to strengthen our commitment with relevant authorities, experts and other stakeholders nationwide and globally to harness the cultural heritage that lies under Vietnam’s diverse bodies of water.

The workshop was held at the UN Green House, Hanoi on 14 May 2024. The workshop brought together international experts on the 2001 Convention, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from various Vietnamese provinces, Member of the International Committee for Underwater Cultural Heritage, International Council on Monuments and Sites, Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO Hanoi office.
