The 10th IAPW International Conference “Printing Wordblock

Research Institute of Forest Industry and National Archives Center IV presented two papers at the 10th IAPW International Conference “Printing Woodblock – Heritage and Technology", including:

1. CONSERVATION OF NGUYEN DYNASTY WOODBLOCKS – WORLD DOCUMENTARY HERITAGE PRESERVED AT NATIONAL ARCHIVES CENTER NO. IV

2. THE SPECIES IDENTIFICATION OF WOOD USED TO MAKE THE WOODBLOCKS OF NGUYEN DYNASTY STORED AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES CENTER IV, DA LAT CITY, LAM DONG PROVINCE.

The conservation of decayed woodblocks of the Nguyen dynasty was carried out based on the results of "Study on conservation treatment for decayed woodblocks of the Nguyen dynasty" conducted by National Archives Center IV in coordination with the Research Institute of Forest Industry. The research resutls were approved by the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam, according to the decision No. 78/QĐ-VTLTNN dated on April 9th, 2020.

The conservation activities of woodblocks of the Nguyen dynasty by the National Archives Center IV, the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam has contributed to prolonging the lifespan of the ưoodblock documents, serving to promote the value of the first world document heritage of Vietnam to the public.
